This year’s fair hosted six major themed exhibitions: Design Eden – Contemporary Design Exhibition, CIFF Shanghai WMF, Upholstered Furniture and Machinery Exhibition, Offices & Public Spaces Exhibition, Urban Outdoor Furniture Exhibition, and Home Textiles & Aesthetics Exhibition. Among the 2025 highlights was the launch of the “New Retail Pavilion”, introduced for the first time to create a reference point for the home furnishing sector, also showcasing the ecological direction of the entire industry chain.

Complementing the exhibition was a rich program of conferences and discussions, with 40 forums and events featuring industry leaders, design masters, and cross-disciplinary experts, who came together to explore new directions for the future of home furniture.

Among CIFF’s most notable releases was the X System modular collection, launched by CAMERICH, a high-end furniture brand with an international vision, and designed by Mario Tsai Studio. The brand presented the exhibition “X System Workshop,” which included the premiere screening of the namesake documentary by director Xinqiao, revealing the research and development process behind the collaboration between the designer’s studio and CAMERICH’s R&D department.

The collaboration between the studio and the brand stems from a shared interest: modularity as a key principle for more innovative production. From this vision, the X System was born, an expression of design rigor, production flexibility, and innovative thinking.

Among the international partnerships, Italy stood out with the platform The Italian Lounge, which explored and celebrated the value of Italian design and lifestyle. Featured brands included Laminam, Kartell, Natuzzi Italia, Delvis, L&G, Oluce, Dedar, Opinion Ciatti, and Slide, showcasing curated collections designed to captivate and engage the international audience.

Conceived and organized by Edimotion, a communication and international marketing company for the design and furniture industry, with the valuable support of CIFF Shanghai, The Italian Lounge served as a strategic hub for creative exchange between Italy and China.

Under the artistic direction of Vudafieri Saverino Partners, the architecture and interior design studio based in Milan and Shanghai, the space designed by Davide Pavanello Lab introduced a new “bleisure” exhibition concept – a blend of business and leisure. Visitors were invited to enjoy immersive sensory experiences and take part in a rich program of forums and talks, organized under the patronage of the Politecnico di Milano – School of Design

The opening session featured a lecture by Professor Scullica on hospitality design. At the Main Forum, Italian and Chinese professionals from various fields shared new perspectives on the role of design in relations between the two countries. Finally, Tiziano Vudafieri, Mauricio Cardenas, and Filippo Sticconi explored the contribution of Italian professionals to the Sino-Italian dialogue, followed by the success story of the Laminam brand in the Chinese market.

The project relied on excellent strategic partners: CSIL, a world leader in market research in the furniture sector; GWA, which handles business development and building relationships between Italian and Chinese companies; and Itonica, which ensures a successful positioning in the Chinese market.
