In the heart of Paris, Villa M is a new approach to city buildings. Designed by Triptyque Architecture with spaces curated by Philippe Starck, this mixed-use complex blends hospitality, healthcare, and sustainability into a lush urban destination.
With its green facade and rooftop garden, Villa M offers a fresh, human-centered vision for how we live in cities. Villa M is more than a building, it is a structure designed to grow.
Built with an open metal exoskeleton, the architecture supports a vertical garden that includes everything from medicinal herbs to fruit trees.
The prefabricated steel framework gives it a minimalist look and allows nature to shape its form over time. The architects describe it as a place where people and nature coexist.
The building’s plant-covered facade plays a vital role in Villa M’s function. It helps regulate temperature, reduces energy use, and turns the exterior into a living medicinal garden. Every inch of the surface has been used to support plant life.
The goal is to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that enhances both comfort and biodiversity while reducing environmental impact.
Vegetation is not an afterthought, it is the main material of the building. From the street to the rooftop, plants define the experience of Villa M.
By integrating greenery into the architecture, the project supports urban biodiversity and promotes healthier living in dense city environments.
Inside, Villa M continues its focus on well-being. The hotel, managed by Paris Society, includes 67 rooms and 6 suites designed to feel like private retreats. Many offer balconies or terraces overlooking Montparnasse. Natural materials, warm lighting, and subtle tones create a restful atmosphere. Philippe Starck’s interior design encourages calm and comfort, while spaces like yoga rooms, a boxing gym, and coworking offices support wellness throughout daily life.
On the top floor, Villa M’s rooftop offers panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower and the Dôme des Invalides. Lined with fruit trees and wicker chairs, it feels like a garden in the sky. Visitors can enjoy a drink among the greenery by day or under string lights into the evening. It is a space designed for quiet moments and shared experiences.
With its plant-covered structure, wellness-focused interiors, and layered public programs, Villa M shows that nature and modern life can thrive together. This is not just a place to stay or work. It is a model for a healthier, more connected way of living.
