Entirely crafted in France and debuted at Maison&Objet 2025, the MANUFACTO collection is born from the union of artisanal expertise and the creative visions of three emerging designers: Döppel Studio, Robin Bourgeois, and Timothée Mion.

AA[nd] is a French family-run company that, since 1998, has been committed to promoting craftsmanship through the production of design furniture. Specialized in the precise and meticulous working of metal, the brand also produces the iconic AA Butterfly©, designed by architects Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Juan Kurchan and Antonio Bonet in 1938 and inspired by Joseph Beverly Fenby’s 1855 folding chair – produced by Knoll between 1947 and 1951 and part of the MoMA Permanent Collection since 1944.

The brand stands out for its continuity, a culture of metallurgy passed down from generation to generation, combining traditional techniques with a bold, forward-looking manufacturing vision. A recent example of their approach is the new Manufacto collection, entirely made in France within their own factory and presented this year in Paris during Maison&Objet.

For the new series, AA[nd] worked as both editor and producer, establishing a dialogue with young designers and giving them the opportunity to observe, experiment, and absorb its unique savoir-faire in metalworking. The result is Manufacto, a collection of original pieces created by Döppel Studio, Robin Bourgeois, and Timothée Mion that embody the brand’s vision. The product series consists of a coffee table and side table, Archetype, the table or wall lamp Plis, and the Cadence bench, all available in four colors – green, royal blue, off-white, and stainless steel finish.

The first two products, designed by Döppel Studio, draw inspiration from ancient columns and combine the solidity of the material with decorative precision. Produced in the workshop specialized in metal bending, the tables feature a tubular structure supporting a circular top for the side table and an oval one for the lower coffee table model. The two parts of the product can be combined with different colors and finishes. With its bold and original lines, Archetype suits both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Designer Robin Bourgeois focused on designing the Plis lamp, available as a table or wall model. The concept originated from simple paper-folding experiments that led to a final form refined through interaction with industrial constraints. Shaped by folding and cutting sheet metal, the product offers four positions and as many light intensities: from resting on a table to wall mounting, Plis also features a transversal cut allowing for an angled position. Designed to be efficient and functional, each configuration responds to a different situation.

Cadence is the bench designed by Timothée Mion for AA[nd], composed of 12 perfectly aligned, curved metal tubes. The seat combines industrial design with an almost graphic aesthetic that adds expressiveness to the piece while lightening its form. Made in the brand’s workshop, its design embodies expertise in tube bending, and its modularity allows for different lengths and configurations. The main detail of Cadence lies in its side handles – a solution halfway between armrest and backrest – created through the bending and inclination of a single tubular element that also serves as the supporting structure.

With Manufacto, the French brand AA[nd] presents an original collection that serves as a manifesto for their bold approach: the design of products that combine historical craftsmanship with the creative vision of the new generation.
