Step Inside a Spa That Feels Like It Was Carved by Nature

Located in Almaty, Kazakhstan, SIAM SPA is a three-story wellness destination designed by the architectural bureau HAAST. With 3,240 square meters of serene space, the project is a carefully orchestrated experience that blends architecture, nature, and ritual, conceived as a sanctuary for both beauty and relaxation.

Let’s take a look around…

An Immersive Spa Journey

The ground floor is home to SIAM SPA’s core offering: a sequence of muted massage rooms, curving corridors, and sand-toned interiors. Textured walls, the absence of right angles, and a striking ceiling installation, distinct from the otherwise understated palette, contribute to an enveloping, almost sacred atmosphere. Warm, low lighting enhances this intimacy, inviting guests into what feels like a tactile “cave” formed of natural materials.

A mix of stone and wood continues into the changing areas, where simplicity meets function. Even here, the detailing feels considered, every element helping guests shift into a premium state of relaxation. Botanical details and dried florals punctuate the rooms, reinforcing a strong sense of connection to the natural world.

Each treatment room is named after a plant or flower, tying into the spa’s larger concept of nature-based navigation. Relaxation and waiting zones offer both communal and private experiences, separated by soft, flowing partitions.

Fitness in Focus

Upstairs, the mood shifts. The entire second floor is dedicated to fitness and carries a more restrained aesthetic. Smooth grey plastered surfaces are paired with veined wood textures, creating a refined backdrop for movement and discipline. Tall, living plants echo the organic feel of the spa below, offering a sense of continuity across floors.

Custom-designed fitness equipment, made of wood to match the space, is tailored for stretching, manual training, and flexibility. Every detail here reinforces the overall vision: to merge functionality with calm, natural beauty.

Streamlined Cosmetology

The top floor houses the cosmetology unit, designed with a more minimal material palette but staying within the warm, earthy tones of the spa. This choice reflects the space’s need for sterility and adaptability, while still aligning with the holistic, nature-rooted ethos of the project.

At SIAM SPA, design is more than aesthetic, it’s a sensory experience that guides visitors into a state of calm. HAAST’s vision turns space into a form of therapy, where natural textures, organic forms, and soft lighting work in quiet harmony.
