Design firm PAR Arquitectos were commissioned to create a modern pool house in Santiago, Chile, positioned next to an existing swimming pool. The project is a blend of outdoor living, natural textures, and functional mid-century modern inspired design.

Taking inspiration from traditional pergolas, the pool house features white-painted steel pillars paired with beams of Oregon Pine. These sit on a solid stone base, grounding the light structure in the landscape.

A stone pathway leads visitors past the pool and up to the pool house. Slightly elevated, the structure is mostly open to the outdoors, while the enclosed section houses a kitchenette, bathroom, and wine cellar for added convenience.

At one end, a lounge area is arranged with simple outdoor sofas facing the pool and backyard, creating a relaxed vantage point.

Beside it, a dining table and BBQ zone extend the social space, while a wall of wooden screens provides both privacy and filtered sunlight, striking a balance between openness and seclusion.

Between the flooring and the wooden screen, a small planted garden softens the architecture and ties the structure back to nature.
