Torio sofa by Noah Living is a modular sofa designed to evolve alongside one’s needs. A fully customisable sofa that fits into multiple dimensions of modern life.
The sofa is perhaps the piece of furniture that, more than any other, allows for the creation of a self-contained microcosm within the home. It is almost more a place than an object, a space where fragments of everyday life unfold. On the sofa, relationships are built and intimacy is nurtured in its many forms. Yet it also offers room for solitude and private rituals; it is a nest where thoughts come to rest, or a space in which to listen to them.
It may also be the most enduring item of furniture in our homes, the one that is only replaced when it can no longer be kept, when it loses its shape or its purpose. Then it is exchanged for another: one to spill the next cup of coffee on, to briefly rest the head before starting again, to read a good book on, or laugh at a film with someone. But if the sofa is all of this — a refuge, a stage for the everyday, a constant presence through time — then, of course, it must also be able to evolve with us.

In domestic spaces that shift rapidly, in lives increasingly forced to adapt to change, and in environments that grow ever more hybrid, design is compelled to keep pace — or ideally, to stay ahead of it. A bedside table must be ready to become a small bookcase, a large dining table to take up less room, and a sofa to transform into an armchair. This is one of the core principles of modular design.
So, “What do we really need?”. That is the question at the heart of every design process at the Berlin-based brand Noah Living. Specialising in sofas and armchairs, the brand collaborates with traditional German manufacturers to create products that blend innovative design with expert craftsmanship.
In seeking to answer a question that drives its entire creative and production process, Noah Living designs furniture made to adapt to the changing demands of life. From timeless aesthetics to full customisation, from modular structures to the reparability of every component: the brand’s products are designed to improve people’s lives while embracing the principles of circularity.

Following this commitment, the brand has recently launched the Torio sofa, a modular piece that can be easily accommodated and inhabited in different interior spaces. For this project, the Dutch studio Raw Color— founded by Daniera ter Haar and Christoph Brach — developed a 24-shade palette inspired by nature and designed to harmonize with different settings. Their chromatic contribution enhances the expressive potential of the sofa and reinforces its role as a companion in ever-evolving lives.
“Torio” is a canvas for our living spaces, a piece of furniture that presents itself as almost deconstructed, ready to be configured entirely to our liking. Noah Living designed the Torio sofa with modules in various sizes, each one available in 24 different shades, allowing for either classic combinations or bold, playful contrasts. This modular composition not only unleashes creativity — making the sofa a central element of the room and a reflection of one’s personality — but also enables it to adapt to different corners of the home and its evolving layouts.

Available in three seat depths — straight, comfort, and lounge — “Torio” evolves alongside changing circumstances and needs: it’s a personal island for relaxation, a bed for welcoming guests and extending moments of togetherness, or a lounge area to enjoy with company. Like all the brand’s products, “Torio” stays true to sustainability: in fact, it can be easily repaired, updated or reconfigured at any time, and its fabric covers are also fully removable and washable.
This versatile soul of the “Torio” sofa reflects one of the brand’s core ambitions: to promote a vision of design in which furniture is not only long-lasting and functional, but above all, a framework of care that supports individual well-being.
